Disconect the HT lead from the sparking plug and undo the magneto backplate holding bolts. You then need to remove the magneto backplate. As you undo the nut it will draw the flywheel off. This undoes in an anti clockwise direction. If you have a finned flywheel, such as on the mk10 and mk12 Villiers engines then you can jam a strong bar or screwdriver in between the fins while you undo the centre holding nut.

You will first need to remove the flywheel. Removing and fitting a new coil is relitivley straigt foward. Most Villiers engines have spent their life outdoors and so the copper windings in coil deteriorate over time.
